Nightlife in Guernsey

Guernsey is also known as the Bailiwick of Guernsey is located near the English Channel off the Normandy coast. It consists of various other small islands and various other islets. It is often referred to as Channel Island. Even though it is a small island, there are a number of pubs, bars, casinos, dance bars etc where you can drop in to enjoy your nightlife in Guernsey. Bar One

Bar One is one of the lounge bars in the capital city of St.Peter Port which offers a happening nightlife in Guernsey. This place is one of the sophisticated lounge bars, which has a laid back atmosphere.

The interiors are well decorated and have small wooden seating arrangements with cozy cushions. The lightings are dim and low, which gives a dreamy look and live music is played by the in-house DJ. At times DJ's from outside are brought in who plays funky house music and music of various other genres.

If you wish to drink, then you can do that from the bar which serves different kinds cocktails and mock tails. For quick bites, you can also select various types of grilled items that are available. You can see a mixed crowd, who are busy drinking and dancing.

Barbados

If you want to hear some popular numbers then you can drop in at Barbados. This is one of the nightclubs in the island, where you will find mostly young crowds, shaking their legs to foot taping numbers. This place has an in-house DJ who mostly plays foot taping commercial music, which is very famous among the young crowd. The place is open from ten in the night till dawn at weekends and it is better to drop in early in order to avoid the rush. Prices of liquor are cheap and entry is free, which makes it one of the favorite joints of students.

The Townhouse

The Townhouse is one of the places who want to enjoy their nightlife in Guernsey in a laidback manner. This place is preferred by middle age people, who love to listen to music of different genres. As it is named as townhouse, the place is also decorated likewise. The interiors are decorated like a traditional village hut and the furniture is also done accordingly. Most of the seating arrangements are wooden and the staff is dressed in traditional attire. There are small cubicles, which has side table and seating arrangements. You can sit there and listen to different varieties of music like funky house music, progressive beats, country music etc.

The Dog House

The Dog House is the only place in the island which plays live music along with good food and drinks of your choice. Due to this unique feature this place is preferred by most of the foreign tourists who wants to listen to live country music, and enjoy their nightlife in Guernsey.

The interiors are decorated in an informal manner and the crowd is bohemian in nature. Most of the people are busy smoking and sipping the liquor of their choice. If you are in look out of some good food, along with good music, then this is the place for you.

Red Onion

There are many sports bar in the island, but this place is preferred by most foreign tourists and local people who are sports freak. The interiors are mostly wooden, with wooden flooring and seating arrangements consisting of leather couches. The walls have large LCD television sets, and Dolby sound system, which gives you the feel as if you are watching the game live.

There is a live DJ also, who plays music of different kinds when there is no exciting game being aired on the television. Hard drinks are not available, but if you want you can sip at various kinds of mock tails which are available.
