Lauttasaari, Finland is one of the main city-districts and islands in the Helinski region in Finland, located merely three kilometers from the west of the city center at Helinski. Known for being one of the important urban centers, Lauttasaari is one of the prime areas for residential properties, especially with the development of many establishments in the region. With the Baltic waters lapping at the shores, the island has a long line of history dating back to 1577, when the then called island of Drumsö was destroyed by the Russian Tartar cavalry. It was in 1640 when Drumso was presented to the new town of Helinski. It was in 1946, when the island of Lauttasaari was incorporated into the Helinski region, the capital city of Finland. While some of its saunas are located on the southern shores, the city headquarters offers facilities of electric sauna, along with washroom, changing rooms and lounge. Though the Society is open only to members, the services are open in both summers and winters. The term Lauttasaari, though literally means 'ferry island', the island is also connected with Espoo and Helinski via causeways and bridges. The unique shoreline saunas can be followed by a dip in the Baltic waters.

Lauttasaari, Finland is known also for highly priced residential property, with the skyline now being dotted with high rising condos. Currently the island is home to the rich and famous, with some of them being popular Finnish celebrities. Some of the still standing buildings in Lauttasaari, which can be traced back to the 1950s, include old Management Studies Institute building, the Lauttasaari church and the Myllykallio school. Where the beaches are concerned, swimmers should beware of the rocks under the sea water.
