The Estate Theater of the city of Prague is a world famous tourist spot in the Czech Republic. The Estate Theater of Prague was purchased by the Czech estate in the year 1798 and from that day the theater was named as the Royal Theater of the Estates. In the year 1862 when the provisional theater was established as Czech stage, in particular, the Estate Theater was dedicated to the German counterpart. The theater was called as the Estate Theater from the year 1920 to 1948. The theater building also survived the destruction and ravages of the second World War. At that time the building was occupied by the Nazi army. The name of the theater changed again in the year 1948 and was renamed as Tyl Theater.

Later in the year 1990 the theater again regained its old historic name and became known as the Estate Theater in Prague or the Theater of the Estates.
