The Cathedral of St Bavon is one of the key attractions of Ghent. Made out of brick and granite, this place is evidence of the 13th ,14th and 15th century architecture. The combination of art forms smoothly blends and creates an effect that is quiet unique. The choir was constructed around the 13th or 14th century whereas the main nave and the Gothic tower was built in the 15th century. The Belfry is another must visit on a trip to Ghent, this tower is symbolic of the independence of the city. In the 13th century there was a copper gilded dragon that sat atop the tip of the tower.

The Town hall is the place where the treaty of Ghent was signed in 1576; a visit to this place is like touring through the pages of history, you can smell it in the air of the place. Alter of Ghent, Bijlokemuseum refractory, Cathedral of St Bavon, Graslei, Gravensteen, meat market and the cloth hall are the other attractions of Ghent.
