Situated right in the heart of the city, the palace Square houses two great specimens of traditional European architecture of the past, the Ducal palace and the Town Hall. Ducal palace was built in the year 1840 by Duke Wilhelm of Nassau and now it serves as the parliamentary building of the state of Hesse. Built between 1852 and 1862, The Protestant Marketkirche or the Market Church, which a specimen of neo-Gothic architecture is also a major tourist attraction in Wiesbaden.
