While being on a trip to Zwickau you will get to see the Gothic church of St Kathrinenkirche, which is famous for the altarpiece ascribed to Lucas Cranach and pastorate of Thomas Muntzer.
Other important places that you must visit during your trip to Zwicakau are the August Horch Museum, the museum dedicated to Robert Schuman, Schloss Osterstein and the Gewandhaus. August Horch Museum is actually an automobile museum and is located in the former site of the factory of Audi and Trabant cars. Located in the old town center in the North of Zwickau, Schloss Osterstein is a small residence, which once served as the home to the electors of Saxony. Built between 1587 and 1590, Schloss Osterstein is actually a renaissance building.

Located right in the heart of Zwickau, the Gewandhaus is also a renaissance building with rich history. Built in the year 1522, the Gewandhaus served as a cloth house. Later, in the year 1812 Gewandhaus was divided into two large halls and the bigger one was opened as a theater.
